Safety & Care Guide

Last updated: May 2026

This Safety & Care Guide covers important information about how to use our costumes safely, what we do to keep them clean and hygienic, what to know about fabrics and allergies, our store CCTV monitoring, and our photo / video consent practices. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions by reference. Please read it before booking, picking up, or using a costume.

1. Hygiene and cleaning

Every rental costume is professionally cleaned and inspected between uses. Our hygiene protocol includes:

  • Washing or dry-cleaning per the costume's fabric care label
  • Spot-treatment of stains and visible soiling
  • Disinfection where appropriate (especially for headwear, masks, and inner-contact items)
  • Visual inspection for tears, missing buttons, broken zippers, or other damage
  • Steaming or pressing for a presentable finish

If you receive a costume with a hygiene issue (visible stain, odour, or other concern), please contact us immediately. We will arrange a replacement or refund as applicable.

2. Fabrics, materials, and allergies

Our costumes are sourced from multiple manufacturers and use a wide variety of fabrics, dyes, trims, and embellishments. Fabric composition may include cotton, polyester, satin, velvet, lace, sequins, beading, plastic accessories, glue-bonded layers, and decorative elements common to costume design.

Allergy notice — please read carefully

We cannot always guarantee specific fabric composition for every costume, especially for items sourced from multiple suppliers. If your child or the person wearing the costume has known sensitivities to certain fabrics, dyes, or materials, please:

  • Inform us at the time of booking — we will help select a costume that's most likely to be compatible
  • Test a small area of skin contact before the event (e.g. wear for 15 minutes and check for any reaction)
  • Consider wearing an inner layer (vest or t-shirt) between skin and costume for sensitive skin
  • Stop use immediately and seek medical advice if any reaction occurs

By renting or purchasing a costume, you acknowledge that we have provided this notice and that the responsibility to check for personal sensitivities before use rests with you. We are happy to share whatever fabric information we have available — please ask before booking.

3. Use as designed

Our costumes are designed for short-duration performance and event use — fancy dress competitions, school annual day functions, themed parties, photo shoots, and similar occasions. They are not designed for:

  • Extended daily wear or as regular clothing
  • Strenuous physical activity, sports, or rough play
  • Use near open flames, candles, fire performances, or other heat sources
  • Use in rain or wet conditions (unless specifically designed for it)
  • Sleeping in or wearing while sleeping

Using a costume outside these intended purposes is at your own risk and may void your security deposit if it results in damage.

4. Adult supervision and physical activity risks

Children using our costumes should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Costumes — especially those with long flowing fabrics, capes, headpieces, or accessories — can present normal physical risks during movement. These risks include, but are not limited to, tripping or falling on long hems or capes, accessories coming loose during play, restricted vision through masks or headpieces, or temporary discomfort from tightly fitted items.

By using our costumes, you acknowledge these as normal risks associated with costume wear and physical activity. You agree that supervision, fit-checking, and reasonable judgment about safe use rest with you (or the responsible adult). We strongly recommend:

  • Inspecting fit before the event — costume should not be too long, too tight, or restrict breathing/vision
  • Ensuring children can walk safely without tripping on the hem
  • Removing or securing loose accessories before active play
  • Adult assistance with masks, headgear, or any restrictive component
  • Stopping use if any discomfort or safety concern arises

5. Choking hazard for young children

Important — for children under 3 years

Some costumes include small parts (buttons, beads, sequins, decorative pieces, accessories) that may pose a choking hazard for young children. Costumes are intended for children aged 3 years and above unless explicitly indicated otherwise. For children under 3, please:

  • Inform us at booking so we can suggest age-appropriate options
  • Inspect the costume thoroughly for small or loose parts before use
  • Maintain direct adult supervision throughout use
  • Remove or secure any accessories that could detach

6. CCTV monitoring at our store

Our physical store at C-22, Second Floor, Surya Nagar, Ghaziabad operates CCTV cameras for security and incident-recording purposes. Cameras are installed in customer areas, entry/exit points, and common spaces. They are not installed in changing rooms or restrooms.

By entering our store premises, you consent to being recorded on CCTV. Signage is displayed at the entrance to remind visitors of this. CCTV footage is used only for:

  • Security of staff, customers, and inventory
  • Incident records (theft, damage, disputes)
  • Compliance with legal requirements when requested by authorities

Footage is retained for up to 90 days and then automatically overwritten, unless preserved for an active incident or legal proceeding. We do not share CCTV footage with third parties except as required by law or with your express consent.

7. Photo and video consent

From time to time, we may take photos or short videos of customers wearing our costumes — for example, in our store, at our events, or as part of our marketing. We always ask for express consent before taking or using any such photo or video that identifies a customer.

For children, we ask consent from the parent or guardian. We do not photograph children without parental consent, ever.

Customers may also share their own photos with us (via WhatsApp, social media tags, or email) showing them wearing our costumes. By doing so, you grant us permission to:

  • Repost the photo on our social media and website with credit to you (where you've identified yourself)
  • Use the photo in our promotional content (with credit if you've requested it)
  • Tag your social media handle if you've shared one with us

You can withdraw photo consent at any time by contacting us — we will remove the photo from our public channels within a reasonable time. We do not sell, license, or transfer customer photos to third parties.

8. Reporting concerns

If you experience any safety, hygiene, or fit concern with a costume — before, during, or after use — please contact us immediately. We take all such reports seriously and will respond promptly.
